Alloy 201 shows good stability in corrosive media such as acids, alkalis and salts and is widely used in industrial elds such as petrochemicals, aerospace, power generation and marine engineering.

Nickel201 Nickel Alloy Chemical Composition and Preparation

The chemical composition of Nickel201 nickel alloy is mainly composed of pure nickel (Ni) and trace impurities, in which iron (Fe), silicon (Si), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), carbon (C) and other elements have low content.
Precise proportioning and strict control of process parameters during preparation are crucial to the performance of the alloy.

Nickel201 nickel alloy physical properties

Nickel201 nickel alloy has a high melting point (about 1455°C) and density (about 8.89 g/cm³), which makes it stable in hightemperature environments. Its coecient of linear expansion is approximately 13.3 x 10^-6/°C, exhibiting low thermal expansion, which is conducive to maintaining dimensional stability at high temperatures.  High purity: Nickel201 is 99.6% pure and free of impurities and inclusions, ensuring its excellent physical and chemical properties. 

-Corrosion resistance:
Nickel201 has excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of corrosive media such as acids, alkalis and salts, and has good stability for some strong acids and alkali solutions.
- High-temperature strength: Nickel201 has excellent hightemperature strength, can maintain good mechanical properties in high-temperature environments, such as high-temperature alloys in the jet engine components.

For some special pipes and tubes that are vulnerable to dirt, scratches, stress, or rough handling, we will suggest using wooden cases for protection. Please note that wooden cases may incur extra costs not only for the case itself but also for increased freight costs, especially when using air transportation. To enhance customer experience, we also provide dedicated packaging according to your specific requirements."

Overview
Commercially pure wrought Nickel with similar properties to Alloy 200 but with a lower carbon content to prevent embrittlement by inter-granular carbon at elevated temperatures.
Characteristics
  • Good resistance to corrosion in acids and alkalis and is most useful under reducing conditions.
  • Outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis up to and including the molten state.
  • In acid, alkaline and neutral salt solutions the material shows good resistance, but in oxidising salt solutions severe attack will occur.
  • Resistant to all dry gases at room temperature and in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride may be used in temperatures up to 550C.
  • Resistance to mineral acids varies according to temperature and concentration and whether the solution is aerated or not. Corrosion resistance is better in de-aerated acid.
  • Virtually immune to inter granular attack above 315C, chlorates must be kept to a minimum.
Applications
  • Manufacture and handling of sodium hydroxide, particularly at temperature above 300C.
  • Production of viscose rayon. Manufacture of soap.
  • Analine hydrochloride production and in the chlorination of aliphatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, methane and ethane.
  • Manufacture of vinyl chloride monomer.
  • Reactors and vessels in which fluorine is generated and reacted with hydrocarbons.

Nickel 201 can be hot formed to almost any shape. The temperature range 1200°F to 2250°F is recommended and should be carefully abided as the proper temperature is the most important factor in achieving hot malleability. Full information of the forming process should be sought and understood before proceeding.
Nickel 201 can be cold formed by all conventional methods, but because nickel alloys have greater stiffness than stainless steels more power is required to perform the operations.
Nickel 201 is the low carbon version of Nickel 200. It is preferred to Nickel 200 for applications involving exposure to temperatures above 600°F. With low base hardness and lower work-hardening rate, it is particularly suited for cold forming.
